Metal Phosphating and Phosphate Pre-Treatment

Phosphating

We offer inline phosphating as well as manual phosphating for larger components.

Phosphating is used as a pretreatment for coating which builds a chemical anchor across the component surface optimising the coating bond with the substrate.

Phosphating is typically preceded with a degreasing cycle. We operate the follow cycle on our heavy duty powder track whilst other processes can be applied manually as required.

  1. Degrease: T Cleaner 70 - mild alkaline cleaner with very little surface attack/etching
  2. Rinse
  3. Phosphate: grenodine 606 - combined degrease/iron phosphate with coating weight from 0.2 to 30 gm/m2.
  4. Rinse
